A Truley Genuine Man
Jimmie Nelson Davis, Age 63, Passed through the "Gates of Heaven" to be with his Heavenly Father , September 27, 2004 @10:55 pm. While on this Earth he fought a long courageous battle, never loosing his Faith, his laughter, nor his sense of Humor. He owned and operated Davis Body Shop, Inc. A business started by his father in 1958. After his father's death, be bought "The Shop", an old run down tin building ,by selling our family home, to purchase it from my Grandmother. With the proceeds from the sell of our home, he began to make his Dreams come true, and began building his Legacy. He thought for days and days of a logo, when one day it finally appeared off the top of his head, "BY ACCIDENT WE MEET". Which is known by many many people and lots of Insurance Companys.. Jimmie didn't only prospere from His Dreams, and his Business decisions, but so did many others. He always took care of His family. He had a very generous Heart and was a caring man. Complete strangers would come in off the street, and he would make sure they had food, money, and even a few times, a bus ticket back home, after being stranded in town.. His Legacy became one of the largest Independent Body Shops, in West Texas. It is now on the third generation... And the Business still has First Generation customers, who dealt with his father, my Grandfather... Jimmie served in the US Army for four years as a Military Policeman. Jimmie loved his family and his friends and he will Forever leave Memories with all you knew him. He will always be remembered for his loving , caring ways; for his compassion, his generosity, his strong sense of values of right and wrong, both in his personel life as well in his Business. He helped many many people throughout his life. Even up to the very end.. During his battle with his illness, he never lost his Faith, His Spirit , His Smile , nor his sense of Humor.. We will always miss the Light in his eyes that always shone so brightly, his little smirky grin, when he thought he came up with a brillant joke, or playful insult.. Like the time , I told him , that I had to stop at the store to get lotion, before I came out there... When I walked through the door, I noticed that little grin upon his face, I knew he had come up with a playful insult... After gaining a few pounds, he tiried to ask me as serious as he could..... "So tell me, how many quarts of lotion does it take now?" Then his eyes lit up and he burst into lauhgter.... One of his other favorites things to say was " What,They couldn't get to you or what?" Just after coming from the Beauty Shop. Jimmie will always be greatley missed and his memory will never fade from our Hearts or our Minds.. Everyone, especially his family, knew and loved him for the truly genuine man he was.. He was a Christian man, and he loved his God, always witnessing to those around him... He loved to talk about his Lord, and wanted to make sure all those that he loved some much, were going to meet him in Heaven one day.. He was an avid Elvis fan, and he loved to sing...... During his last months of life, he would sing to us all, comforting us and leaving us with yet more Memories.. Although homebound for 3 years, living on 100% oxygen, supplied by a 750 lb tank, he never complained.. For the Doctors had told him he had only 3 weeks to live.. Being the strong willed & determined person, he was: He proved all of the doctors wrong. And he lived each day to the fullest... Even on days when he didn't feel good or he hurt all over, he never complained. He never wanted to worry or burden his family, or his caretakers. Instead of worrying about hisself , he constantley worried and concerned hisself for our well being.. Always fussing over us.. Our tiny pains and aches were not a match for what his body was going through, and for what he endured those last 3 years of his life, but yet, he still never complained.. He was a tad, (okay alot), "Spoiled", but he so aprreciated everything that was done for him. No matter how big or how small the deed might be.. He was always THANKFUL.. On that night, not so long ago......... GOD looked around his Garden and found an empty place.. He then looked down upon this Earth and saw Jimmie's loving face. He put his arms around him and lifted him to rest.. GOD'S Garden must be beautiful for He always take the best.. He knew you were in pain and He knew you would never get well on this Earth again... He saw that your path was difficult, He closed your tired eyes and he whispered to you, "Peace be Thine" and he gave you your wings to fly... When we saw you sleeping so calm, so free of pain, We would not wish you back to this Earth to suffer once again... You have left us with Precious Memories, Your Love will always be our guide, You will always live through us and YOU will always be with at our sides. It broke our Hearts to lose you, but YOU did not go alone... For a big part of us went with you, on the night GOD called you home... I can hear you saying, "I can dig it" and "That dog will hunt". I hear your voice in my Heart and in my mind everyday.. I see your Smile... I will always remember you and until we meet again... I only PRAY that you know much you are loved and missed every single day.. Your Legacy will always live on, not only in my Life, but in the lives of so many other people who you profoundly affected & touched, from the Love you gave to us all.... Until we all meet again, Rest in Peace... With Love Eternally, Your Daughter, and Your Family........
